Welcome to the Monotype Stats section!
If you're a returning visitor, this section recently received a slight facelift, so you'll have to use the navigation menus to find the usual content!
For those of you that are new, you will find all sorts of data on the Monotype metagame here. Currently, we have a Sprite Gallery to show Pokemon usage/movesets by type, a set of Matchup Tables to show how each type fares vs the other types and a Type Analyses page to track metagame trends.
As always, if you find any bugs make sure to shoot me a pm so I can get them fixed!

So what's next?
I'd love your input on what you think is interesting.
Also let me know if you're interested in helping develop some of this content! It can be from a coding perspective or just helping to answer some of the questions on how to approach these topics.

Some things I am considering:
- Type-specific Checks and Counters for some of the more common Pokemon in the metagame (top 10 on each type?). Do we need to revise Antar's Check's and Counters metric for our Metagame? Alter it based on the type chart? The matchup statistics?
- Common partners/team builds to help with team building. Given Pokemon X, what are the 3 most common partners? A version of this is already available over on the Smogon stats page.
- Further development on the matchup chart: A matchup analysis for each type pairing. What Pokemon generate the most KO's? Force the most switches? What Pokemon have almost no Check/Counters in a particular matchup? Etc.
- An analysis on what makes a Pokemon broken in Monotype? We have banned Mawilite and Slowbronite since the server reset, and are likely to ban others in the near future. What qualities do these Pokemon share from a quantitative point of view? Are there other Pokemon in the metagame that also have these qualities? Are they generally considered broken by the community (the "Eye Test")?
Details and Acknowledgments:
Thanks to Antar for supplying the Monotype usage data and having a well-commented, easy-to-understand set of code to build from. If you see him, make sure to say thanks for all that he does for PS! and Smogon!
Most of the numbers you see in this section correspond to the 1630 weighted usage statistics. In the sprite gallery, these numbers are meant to tell you how common a particular Pokemon is on a Monotype team of that type, not how common they are in the overall Monotype metagame. If you're curious about how this is done you can read the links below or pm scpinion on Smogon or PS!. Also, if you have a suggestion on how to improve this page I would love to hear it!
Curious how these numbers were generated?
See the links below for a more detailed description of how all this works.
