Wanka's Balanced Water
Hey it's Wanka and this is a balance Water team that got me to around 1630 Elo which was #14 on the ladder at the time. I'm doing this for my long time friend sabella because he helped me with this team and pretty much taught me how to use the type in general.

Lanturn: Lanturn is a nice mixed wall with a really nice ability in volt absorb that helps sponge electric attacks thrown at the other mons. Volt switch provides good momentum to properly bring in one of the teams wall breakers or check whatever the opponent throws at you. Since it's a wall, scald spreads burns to cripple incoming checks. Thunder wave is nice to have in the back to stop a threat in its tracks and make it more easily revengable. Heal Bell comes last because Mega Sableye tends to spam will-o-wisp like it's a day job and it's nice to keep the squad healthy when mons start getting burned or any other status gets thrown at them.
Gyarados: This Gyara is a DD 3 attacks variant. Substitute could be used over ice fang, but the team lacked some Ice coverage in general. Relying solely on Cloyster puts too much pressure on it, so ice fang is nice to have. Intimidate as its inital ability allows for easier DD's. It's pretty straight forward with dual STABs in crunch and waterfall.
Empoleon: Empoleon serves as the bulky rock-setter that this team needed. It's more specially based to check special attackers and get rocks up. Scald, once again, is nice to spread burns and annoy the mons that try and check Empoleon. The team needed a form of hazard removal so defog was squeezed on there. Roar is nice to have for bulky set up sweepers that the team cant immediately break through.
Cloyster: A Sash Shell Smash sweeper that really acts as either a sweep stopper with its focus sash or as a deadly sweeper on its own. Icicle spear and ice shard give Cloyster the ability to give Dragon teams a headache and rock blast stops certain annoying mons in their tracks, like Mega Charizard Y. I didn't think much of Cloyster because I usually see it used poorly, but when it's used correctly it really comes in handy.
Starmie: A fast wall breaker that can check offense with its speed and power and do some wall breaking at the same time. Hydro pump is its most powerful STAB and when it's packed with a life orb, it hits pretty hard. Psyshock lets it perform well against Poison. HP Fire is nice to catch Ferrothorn off guard. Ice beam is also a viable option, providing that extra Ice coverage to help against Dragon and Grass.
Keldeo: A standard Sub CM Keldeo which can set up on some bulkier pokemon like Mega Sableye. Dual STAB in secret sword and scald is used to spread burns and hit both defenses. It can act as a decent fast hard hitter in its own that can really mess with balance teams if you can get a sub up. It's nice to have the passive recovery of leftovers to gain HP back after using substitute.
