Izz (Rotom-Mow): When you think of Grass' biggest threats, you'll get Charizard, Kyurem, Pinsir-Mega, Volcarona, Heracross... You'll get a lot of Pokemon, but Rotom-Mow is there to serve as a main check to Pinsir after it has mega evolved. Leaf Storm for a powerful grass STAB, Volt Switch for momentum and Electric STAB, Trick to cripple non-mega walls, and Thunder Wave for.. Lol, I don't really know. That last slot is a filler move. Thunderbolt, Will-O-Wisp, or even HP Ice could work instead in its place, but T-wave has made its own room in my heart, lol. The EV spread is pretty typical. Max speed and special attack. Base 86 speed has the niche of beating Scarf Heracross by 1 base point. 4 EVs in SpDef to prevent opposing Pokemon's Download boost from going to special attack. I'm thinking Ice Beam from Genesect and Porygon-2, but you could put those 4 EVs wherever. Rotom-Mow is literally energy as electricity, so I tried to gave it a name suitable for a hyper-active child and came up with Izz.
Nodt (Venusaur-Mega): This is Grass' all purpose wall. With Thick Fat and a Poison typing, it does what Ferrothorn and Cradily does as one Pokemon (as far as neutralizing weaknesses goes), so yup. Synthesis is self explanatory. It's a shame it's weather based, though. Hail, Sand, and Rain will impede recovery. Hidden Power Fire and Earthquake make Venusaur a Steel-killer. It doesn't OHKO Tran or most Scizor and Ferrothorn, but it does enough to be a threat. Skarmory avoids 2HKO, but you can apply the pressure with HP Fire as it goes through its roosts. You have to aim for a crit or for Skarmory's Roost PP to run out, both of which are doable. As the last move, you have Sludge Bomb which is just nice STAB with a 30% psn rate and appreciated coverage against Fairies and other Grass types. I don't like Giga Drain on Venusaur when it's on a Grass team. Many people will expect Giga Drain though, so you can use that to your advantage. EV spread optimized for physical bulk. Venusaur looked kind of off-putting so I gave him an off-putting name, Nodt.
Goltas (Ferrothorn): The team's answer to Kyurem-B lacking HP Fire is this. With full SpDef investment, it's optimized to take multiple ice beams. LO Ice Beam will still hurt, but Leech Seed is there to remedy that and damage from other attacks. Protect is useful for scouting moves and racking up HP from lefties and Leech Seed. Gyro Ball prevents you from being taunt bait and packs quite a hit coming from Ferro's attack in tandem with its lowered speed. The team is lacking hazard control, so instead of fixing a weakness to hazards, I just fought back with hazards of my own, so enter Spikes. Ferrothorn's name comes from my Steel team's Ferrothorn. It's really hard to give Ferrothorn a name, lol, but I got Goltas, a fitting name for a sturdy and powerful character.
Lilium (Cradily): Here to check Volcarona lacking Bug Buzz and Charizard-Mega-Y is Cradily with its maximized special defense and STAB rock slide. Lacking SR so far, Cradily fixes that. Toxic on its moveset lets it fight against other walls while Recover helps it stay in the field. This Pokemon is one of the ones that dies first, lol. It's usually my death fodder if there's an attack I can't tank with another Pokemon. It's never really an MVP. Its ability can be changed to Water Absorb. Suction Cups is kind of useless. Its only niche I can think of is against a phazer while hazards have been fully set up. It'll prevent the team from taking forced hazard damage. Lilium is a direct reference to the Lily part of Cradily's name.
Versai (Serperior): Special sweeper Serperior is super successful. Sss. I don't know, but I went with it. Anyway, with Contrary, this thing is quite the threat with the ability to use a powerful STAB move AND raise its killing potential at the same time by using Leaf Storm. Its movepool leaves MUCH to be desired, but it scrapes by with HP Fire to nail those Steel types and Dragon Pulse for good neutral coverage (lacks power, though) and an added punch against Dragon types. Substitute is the filler move for this Pokemon, but I think Substitute is superior with Serperior's skill to insist switches. I did it against with the sss's. Aside from scaring Pokemon to switch or to fodder something against Leaf Storm giving you a free sub, Substitute has the nice niche of avoiding status, which plenty would like to force upon Serperior. Serperior is the only Pokemon in my team with its own customized moveset :D which I am quite proud of. 40 HP EVs and 0 Atk IVs allow Serperior to set up subs on Pokemon who rely on Foul Play. Foul Play will only have a 6.25% chance of breaking the sub with this spread. 48 HP EVs removes that chance entirely, but I choose to run the risk. 6.25% doesn't exist to me, though I'll probably change it to 48 when I lose because of that, haha. Leftovers gives Serperior a form of recovery to remain on the field longer and recreate Substitutes. The item could be changed, but I prefer it this way. Serperior was named Versai because its regal-design reminded me of France's royalty thus I named the Serperior after the Pallace of Versailles.
Champi (Breloom): Offensive, Grass staple Breloom is my physical sweeper. Spore to incapacitate foes (it's like its defining quality), Mach Punch as STAB priority, Bullet Seed as strong multi-hit STAB (sometimes this move's power surprises me), and Swords Dance to make use of Spore's pressure on the opponent to set up for a sweep. I prefer Life Orb on Breloom as it just furthers its killing potential by that much more. You can break things much easier with a life orb. I find Focus Sash underwhelming just because I don't have hazard control on the team and Stealth Rock will more than often be set up anyway. Instead of fixing my weaknesses, I focused on making my strengths even stronger. The EV spread is standard max speed, max attack. I guess it can be tweaked to be adamant instead of jolly. It doesn't really beat anything in particular as Jolly 252. Speed ties Bisharp, but Mach Punch, lol. Please PM me if I should make the switch OR to remind me that Jolly is a good choice. Breloom is appropriately named Champi because she's a Champ (with a feminine "i" at the end) and it's a reference to a mushroom.
